Day Trip From Agadir to To Tafraoute & Tiznit

Departure at 07:30 to Tafraout in the heart of the Anti-Atlas. Small town surrounded by pink granite mountains, provide Tafraout its natural beauty. We start by crossing the plain of Souss and discover on the road the old kasbahs, the beautiful oases, the goats at the top of the argan tree, the fields of almond trees that bloom from January, the famous valley of Amalen with its natural engraving “Lion’s head”, its traditional houses, its blue spring and its 33 villages. So, we are only 6 kms from Tafraout. Once we arrive at Tafraout, the air becomes pure because we are at 1000 m altitude.

After lunch, we visit the weekly souk which is held every Wednesday. There, we discover the activities of the villagers. Also, we discover a vast market of babouches and silver jewelry. After, go towards the beautiful village of Aguerd Oudad to discover its rock so high called “Hat of Napoleon”, and its beautiful houses built in a typical architectural style of this region Berber.

Then we go to see an ideal place, rocks painted by the famous Belgian Artist Mr. Jean Verame in 1984. During this visit, here and there, you will appreciate the rocks that look like animals and others to human heads. On the way back, we will go by the way of Tiznit. It allows to see a different landscape on the road, and to discover the historical city of Tizint, to see its ramparts, its old medina, and its big market of jewels in solid silver. Tiznit is famous for making silver jewelry. But also by its mint sold in all the markets of the region. So, we can enjoy a tea before committing to the road to Agadir.
